Josue Sierra: Cecil County Residents are Tired of Democrat Career Politicians

A recent editorial was featured in the Cecil Whig questioning where conservatives like us get the idea that Annapolis has a spending problem. The evidence is not hard to find: Democrats in Annapolis are the ones that put in place a “redistribution of wealth” plan, raising the top marginal income-tax rate to 6.25%. That means that the state-local tax rate can go as high as 9.45% in cities such as Baltimore and Bethesda which also impose income taxes. Democrat Governor Martin O’Malley had the nerve to say that we are “willing and able to pay [our] fair share”. Going back to 2002, it was a Democrat, Parris Glendening that left Maryland taxpayers with a huge budget deficit.  In 2007, Democrats gave us tax increases to try to close the deficit of 1.7 billion dollars. But in 2009 we still got an even bigger deficit of 1.9 billion on the Democrat’s watch. They got lucky, as Democrat Barack Obama bailed them out that time (and we know where that money came from). Now, Democrats have us in trouble again!

Cecil County residents are tired of Democrat career politicians who’ve been in Annapolis for far too long, who spend irresponsibly, and then tax us out of our earnings to cover up their lack of fiscal restraint.

What Mrs Janusz, the author of the editorial I reference, forgot to mention is that her husband is Democrat candidate for County Commissioner, Joe Janusz. I am curious to know what Joe Janusz thinks about O’Malley’s addiction to spending.
